Roman Massey, Pianist
Biography
Roman Massey began playing piano at ten years old under the guidance of Christina Kettering (now Walker). He began violin lessons two and a half years ago with Yasya Brown. Roman has accompanied Bay County Christian Youth Choir and played violin with Panama City Youth Orchestra. He has used his piano skills both in community nursing homes and in his church.Roman has participated in music festivals sponsored by the PCMTA. In 2023, he was chosen to perform for the FSMTA Student Honors Recital and Masterclass. He participated in Piano Day at Stetson University and had the opportunity to work with Meng-Chieh Liu and Sean Kennard. For the past two summers, Roman has attended Music Academy in Pensacola and studied with Daisy Jaffé. Earlier this year, he participated in a masterclass with Ilya Yakushev, the renowned pianist. In the fall of this year Roman will begin his music studies at college.
